Tax Filing Deadline and Income Taxes' payments Extended until the end of August 2020 in Qatar
Updated: Jun 23
Due to difficulties faced by Companies and Taxpayers affected by Covid-19, The General Tax Authority GTA published the 7th Circular for the year 2020, which included an extension of the deadline to submit the Tax filing and to pay the income tax fees for the year ended 31 December 2019 of another 2 months.
Therefore, the new Tax return submission deadline for Taxpayers with financial year ended 31 December 2019 has been extended to 30 August 2020 instead of 30 June 2020. Furthermore, any income tax liability for Taxpayers shall also be due on or before 30 August 2020.
The Circular has been issued in light of the exceptional circumstances that the Taxpayers and businesses are facing during this period.
This circular is definitely very helpful to our customers and to every company that pays income taxes or has to file their taxes to GTA in Qatar. While this extension is considered very helpful for dealing with the current situations, TSA&Partners highly recommend to work towards having the Tax returns submitted before reaching the new deadline, to avoid any unexpected penalty or inconveniences.
